Green Insulation

Green building – foreword

Green building is smart building, the purpose of which is to provide the residents of the building with a healthier environment and quality of life, while reducing the overall environmental influence of the construction process and the use of the building. This approach is highly beneficial to the residents using the homes and to the contractors building them, by lowering the consumption of resources and improving the living conditions in the homes.

The purpose of green building is to create a healthy and comfortable residential environment, and to prevent damage to perishable natural resources and the quality of the environment, as much as possible.

This purpose is achieved by the combination of three goals which are the foundation blocks of green building:

  • Preserving natural resources – using recycled materials.
  • Reducing the damage to the environment.
  • Raising the energy efficiency of the home.

To achieve these goals, a number of strategies are used, as follows:

  • Effective thermal insulation of the roof, walls and windows; use of materials with a high thermal resistance coefficient.
  • Taking advantage of a thermal mass and thermal insulation in heating/ cooling for energy saving.
  • Efficient and economizing planning of the area of the house and the use of that area.
  • Option for recycling building material and building refuse.
  • Precision choosing of building materials in accord with the features specified below:
    • Building materials that require minimal energy in manufacturing.
    • Building materials which are not perishable, or can be recycled, or include recycled components.
    • Local building materials, to avoid superfluous transport costs.
    • Building materials with a long life expectancy and low maintenance costs.
  • Minimizing the damage to the environment, refraining from use of products requiring mining and other natural resources.

An important part in planning is to address the cost of the home for its entire life cycle as the main economic consideration and not the cost of the investment in the construction. In addition to its contribution to general environmental protection and preventing the abuse of perishable resources, green building provides many other advantages for the home owners and residents, as follows:

  • Low operation expenses.
  • High quality and comfort for the environment of the home (indoors and outdoors).
  • Makes the home highly "saleable."

Green Insulation

There are different kinds of thermal and acoustic insulation. All insulation contributes to the quality of life of the building residents by maintaining the desired temperature and preventing the annoyances of different noises.
But what about environmental protection?

Haama, inc., leading in the development of innovative insulation products is pleased to present the first insulation solution which takes into account the quality of life of the resident as well as the quality of the environment
.
The green insulation is innovative insulation with the following features:

  • Manufactured from recycled polyester fibers only.
  • Manufactured by a clean manufacturing process which does not include glues and chemicals.
  • All of the refuse from the manufacturing process is recycled for reuse.
  • The product is pleasant to the touch and easy to use, and can be selfinstalled even with DIY.
  • The product is safe for use and does not require protective means.
  • The insulation does not disintegrate and maintains the insulation features throughout the unlimited life of the project.
  • The insulation is manufactured at a high technological level in order to provide an excellent level of thermal insulation, contributing to energy saving and the reduction of energy costs for heating and cooling the home.
  • The insulation provides an excellent level of acoustic absorption in order to prevent the annoyance of environmental noise from the residents.
  • The product can be recycled completely into the original fibers and for reusing the fibers.

All of the above features make GREEN for classic insulation the leader for use in green building and for every other standard construction.
